Most Famous University of Michigan Alumni, CEOs & Graduates
I want to talk to you about the three most famous and notable Michigan alum that you need to know. People that have been part of the Wolverine community and the big blue for quite a few years in various passions. The first on the list is Larry Page. Larry Page graduated from the University of Michigan with a Bachelor of Science in computer engineering. He took that degree and went on to create alongside Sergey Brin the company known as Alphabet, but it's known as Google. He's worth at the time of this recording, more than 40 billion dollars.
Larry Page has had a phenomenal impact and has very much been part of continuing the big blue tradition in so many ways. Larry Page is number one on our list as the most famous Michigan alum.
Number two on our list is Charley Munger. Charley Munger is literally is considered Warren Buffet's second in command. He's the vice chair at Berkshire Hathaway. He was born back in 1924. He's currently 92 years old. Even though he didn't necessarily have the most significant brand name similar to Warren Buffet, his impact has been tremendous. Having been part of many of the acquisitions that the Berkshire Hathaway conglomerate has made, he's also served on the Costco board of directors and many different board of directions. He's given back by the way from everything to the University of Michigan Law School, where he's part of the philanthropic community, to other ventures that the University of Michigan has been part of. Charley Munger is definitely top of the list in terms of ... or one of the top of the list, in terms of his impact on the blue, the Wolverines, and the Michigan tradition.
Dick Costolo is the last on our list. Dick is not only is a proud Wolverine alum, but he was a CEO from Twitter from 2010 to 2015. Having been the CEO of Twitter, he helped establish the Twitter brand name and all the communication. What Twitter has done for the world in terms of giving people platforms to communicate is pretty unparalleled.
